Colle Santa Lucia -First Year Vacation

Pictures from 1st Year Vacation

1. Roadsign pointing the way to Belvedere, where I got to read Benedict's new Encyclical Caritas in Veritate, published in the morning paper.

2. The local parish priest's house, where we stayed and lived during the vacation. My room was on the second floor, right of the balcony. I remember the incredible beautiful views of the mountains in the mornings, from the windows and shutters left open, the sun beaming down and the various formations of the moisture evaporating from the trees.

3. The Crucifix from the cemetery behind the local parish church. Visitors would come to visit and pray for their deceased family members everyday from 8' in the morning til 8' at night. It was incredible, and the locals would bring fresh flowers for the tombs daily.

4. Statue of Mary holding the Crucified Christ behind the Church.

5. Don Jonah during our mountain climbing adventure together, Le Tofane, one of the most difficult and challenging climbs at the Dolomite National Park.
